Mother's Day..

Is tomorrow! And I can honestly say I wouldn't want to be anything else in the whole world than the mother to my son Jordan. He brings so much joy to my life and I am blessed everyday to be his mom. I can also say that I am very lucky to have the mother that I have! She is amazing! She does so much for her family, it's funny how when you become a mother you definitely appreciate your own mother a lot more. My mom was a stay at home mom and with 4 kids she was always on the go. She did everything she could so that we could be involved in whatever activities our little hearts were set on at the time. She was always there for every choir concert, sporting event, play, band trip (ahem Andrea, band geek, haha!) karate practice, dance recital, and the list goes on and on. She continues to be an amazing mother who still puts her kids and grand kids before herself. She is the strongest woman I know and definitely doesn't give herself enough credit. I hope I can be half the mother she is. Love you Mom!!!! I hope everyone has a great Mother's Day!

Jordan and I on my first mothers day!

I'm sure she will be mad at me because she hates all pictures of her but I just had to post one of her and I.
........I also have to say Happy Mother's Day to my Mother-In-Law Linda, she is a wonderful woman who without her I wouldn't have my loving husband or precious son! I am so happy to have her in my life, I watch her play with Jordan and she is down on the floor rolling around, feet in the sandbox, reading books, and he loves every minute of it (not very many people would let a two year old boss them around) She has made me feel welcome in her family since day one and also lives her life for her children, always trying to make life easier on all of us and helping where she can. Thank you Linda! Happy Mother's Day!

(I have pictures where you can actually see Linda's face but I will always love this photo)

Congratulations Cyndi!

For those of you who don't know, Miss Wyoming Cyndi Pate won Miss Congeniality at this years Miss USA pageant in Vegas. Cyndi is from Casper, and a very sweet girl. We are lucky to have her represent our city and state! I have to admit I don't really follow the pageants, if they are on then yes I might watch but since we know Cyndi personally we thought we would cheer her on. Way to go Cyndi!!! You are a beautiful girl inside and out! (i'd like to think it was all due to the awesome headshots I did, but I know it wasn't, haha)

Check it out...

Hey everyone, I just thought I would let you all know that I am selling some of my fine art photography on one of my favorite websites Etsy.com. It's a great place for artists of all kinds to sell their art. Anything handmade is allowed to be sold on the site. Its a great place to find unique gifts as well! I only have a couple of prints up, as I am still kind of testing it out. But I would love for you to take a look and let me know what you think!! http://AppleCheeksStudio.etsy.com

Also, I recently started selling Scentsy! Scentsy is a wickless, flameless candle completely safe for kids and pets! I have always burnt the Yankee tarts in my home, but I have to say Scentsy scents last A LOT longer, and they have 80 wonderful scents to make your house smell yummy :) We have three dogs and one of the biggest compliments I get when people come to my house is that it smells good and they can't believe I have 3 dogs. Any of you that have dogs know that they can be stinky, so the fact that people smell a pleasant smell when walking into my home rather than my stinky dogs is great! The wax itself does not get hot enough to burn, so if kids happen to spill it or touch it, it will not burn! These are great mother's day gifts as well! So if you are interested you have until the 30th of April to guarantee delivery for mother's day. http://www.scentsy.com/jsore

a weekend of biopsys, animals, and Easter fun.....

Jordan's biopsy went really well, we won't find out results for week or so. The hardest part by far was seeing him go under the anesthesia. Seeing his little body looking lifeless almost killed me. Brian and I walked back into the waiting room bawling our eyes out which probably wasn't good for the other patients waiting. One lady even came up to me and said "I sure hope I don't come back out here like you did" as she walked her teenage daughter to the back room. We are glad it is over, and we are ready for the next step, whatever that will be. He was feeling so good that we even made a trip to the zoo, which he LOVED.
I'm pretty sure the cardboard cutout of the elephant was his favorite part haha! We couldn't get him away from it.

We spent easter morning in Cheyenne with cousins...

And Easter afternoon in Casper with more cousins...
Jordan found multiple uses for his bucket.

Off we go......

to Denver for Jordan's rectal wall biopsy. For those of you who don't know, Jordan has had chronic constipation since birth. We thought that this was something he would grow out of but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. He has always only pooped once every 7 to 10 days. He gets really backed up and he struggles for 3 days just pushing and throwing up out his nose, he won't eat, and when he does finally go it is so big and painful that his little bum bleeds and he gets hemorrhoids and the specialist said it's the equivalent to giving birth every time he does it. We feel good about having this done because we just want to find out what is wrong with him. We have tried everything under the sun to help him to go, diet, increased water, enemas, soy milk, suppositories, and the only that that seems to work is an increased dose of Miralax (sp?) which he takes daily. Although this is in no way an extensive surgery just the thought of Jordan being under anaesthesia makes me so nervous. I will just be glad when this is all over with and Jordan can poop on his own :) Hope you all have a fantastic Easter weekend!!

It's hard to believe.....

my little boy has grown into a big boy bed! Is he really old enough?!?! Time is flying by, and i'm so thankful i'm not missing a second of it. But I still can't get over the fact that he no longer needs a crib. He is doing so good in his new bed, he loves reading stories in his bed before he goes to sleep and get's so excited that he can climb in and out of it. I admit I LOVE cuddling with him, but it is also nice to have my bed back to just Brian and I. I am all for having our children in our bed there is a comfort in knowing that they are safe by your side sleeping sound, but Jordan is getting so long and insists on sleeping the opposite way that we do so it's hard to get sleep especially when you get kicked in the face every now and then. So this is working out great for all three of us. I can cuddle with Jordan in his bed while he falls asleep then go cuddle with my husband. Life is stressful right now but it's things like this that let me know that we are on the right track and that life is moving forward. Have a great week all! Sweet dreams Jordan :) (I started this blog a couple days ago but just got around to posting it.)
He loves hanging out in his new improved room!
His first night sleeping in his bed (not the best quality photo, it was taken in the dark)
New bed was his old crib that converted to a full bed.
